The experience was nothing short of spectacular. Jackie provided excellent service. Everything about this place is classy. It is very big inside. The chairs are comfortable. We had a romantic evening. The food was delicious and one of the best. This was our first time and we love it here. Jackie made our anniversary date night a special one. She was very attentive and sweet. She was on point with making sure we were taken care of. Kudos to the chef. We cannot stop talking about how delectable, flavorful and tasty the food was. We want some more as I type this. The place itself it quite a gem. There is parking (self and valet) . The parking attendants are very nice. We loved the decor inside the restaurant. Very festive. We cannot wait to come back.
Came in on a Saturday night to celebrate a birthday. We hung out the bar prior to our reservation and even though the bar area was really busy the bartender made sure he got to us. Once we were seated in the area near the bar it gives an old school feel. We looked at the menu and noticed they were honoring the Dine La menu which was an added bonus. I had the filet and he had the ribeye both were good no complaints. Our server did the Baked Alaska for the birthday dessert and that was a nice touch. Barbara was so amazing and she made our dining experience memorable.
We had a fantastic meal at the derby. Every single thing was excellent. Service, old-school decor and every single morsel of food. For starters, our servers name was Jeff. Kismet. No way we would have a bad meal at this point. Complementary garlic cheese bread is phenomenal. We got the crabcakes and the calamari sticks as appetizers. Both were delicious. Not too fried, not too mushy for the crabcake; just right. For entrées, we got the shrimp scampi and bacon wrapped filet mignon. The shrimp was solid, 4 large pieces. I love baked potato so when I saw it on the menu, I knew I was at the right place. I'm usually not a steak guy, but that fillet was 10 out of 10. Juicy, flavorful, tender as all get up. I would gladly drive here an hour in traffic on a Monday night for that steak. We were also celebrating a birthday, so we got a complementary baked Alaska. Not many places serve this dish. It is a delight! We can't wait to go back!
All the people working there friendly and helpful Food was tasty Lighting was a bit dark but it was still a pleasant dinning experience Loved the booth style sitting It is different for every person, that's just mine and my husband's opinion
One of my favorite restaurants in the world. I love this old-school, classic steakhouse. Too many great things about this place to list. There are so many reasons why this joint has been running strong for over a century. I hope it will rival Le Procope in Paris in longevity; may it still be serving 400 years from now! Some things get better with age: wine, violins, Nolan Ryan, and The Derby.
Came here for birthday dinner and had the chance to try their 3 course menu. The entire place is filled with history of The Derby. The interior definitely takes you back to the good 'ol times of fancy dinning. All 3 courses were amazing and of course the prime rib is to die for, the suggested wine pairing was perfect. As for the dessert, besides the Baked Alaska (say less), the BREAD PUDDING! I was never a bread pudding person but this pudding has changed my impression and this bread pudding has set a standard for me. I love the restaurant offers both valet parking and self parking! So if anyone is wearing "sit down shoes", there's always an option the entire experience was miraculous, attentive service. We had such an amazing experience and already planning our next visit!
Good 10/10. Steak done med well on point. Bread veggies salad omg! Ambience 10/10. Waiters was 10/10; Hence the fat tip we gave. Ty pleasant tasty experience
This was my first time here and it was absolutely amazing! The service was spot on. I never had to ask for my water to be refilled and they refilled my wine glass as needed. I took advantage of the 3 course dinner for Dine La, and holy moly, was it amazing!!! The green goddess salad was huge (I did add salt), the garlic mash potatoes were so delicious, and the bacon wrapped filet mignon was full of flavor and cooked to perfection. I can't wait to go back!
We called in for reservation and it's best to do so. And their dress code is business casual. When we arrived at 7, we were seated right away, as we made reservations, and it seemed fully packed. They do have complimentary valet service buy I opted to park next door and we walk over. To start, we ordered the French onion soup and Caesar salad and they served us tasty toast. It had melted cheese and spices. I enjoyed very much with the French onion soup. We got the salmon and the prime rib. Everything came out delicious!! Emanuel was our server and he was on it with the water and the complete service. We ordered the dessert sampler because we couldn't decide. It came with the bread pudding, chocolate cake and cheesecake. Again, everything was delicious!! Thank you The Derby staff for the excellent service!!
